Hi,
I just installed the webmail package, but I am not able to track down the login error. When I try to login in, I just get the reply that " server name, user name, or password are incorrect."
Anyone knows how to track things down? POP3Client (2.7) seems to work fine, since all tests were performed w/o problems.
Thanks for any help

To Joe Astrologo- jastrolo@infomanage.net:
It looks like either your $CGI_PATH_NSWM= setting in the WebMail configuration file or your alias in httpd.conf is wrong. One of them is including an extra '/' where they should be. Check them and try removing the trailing '/' on each one at a time to see if that fixes it.
To Justin Lynch- jlynch@hms.uq.edu.au:
I'm getting the same error. All my CPAN modules compiled fine, but it gives me the same error. Is the POPServer variable supposed to be set to the DNS/IP of your mail server? Or does it need to be 'localhost'?
To Brady Owens- brady@fserve1.me.ua.edu:
We need some error codes or logs to help diagnose your problem. One problem I had was the default location in the Perl scripts of where Perl is was wrong for my system. You might want to check that.

Hi there, I am using ns webmail on win32 apache, and using activeperl. I have everything - sending, receiving, etc... working - except for the reading of messages in your inbox. I get the following error:
Content-type: text/html
Software error:
write-open D:
swm emp\msg1-659611-1.txt: No such file or directory at D:/Perl/site/lib/MIME/Body.pm line 414, line 19.
The directory I have in configwm.pm is d:\nswm\temp, it looks like it's getting to there properly, but t's almost as tho the MIME::Body module is not parsing the information properly, but I'm not sure as I'm not a Perl expert... was probably lucky to get this far with it :-)
Anyone out there have any suggestions?
Thanks!

When you reach the login page , if you click the login button whithout put anyone user or password the script lets
you enter the box.
The server says the user is wrong , but if you click in the
compose message you can send email with the user you want..
Does anyone know if this is a error of configuration or
a script error :?
Thx

I have noticed in nswebmail that if you know a users name you can see their sentmail by typing their username and a bogus password. You also can compose messages as that user but not send them unless you authenticate. Is there a way to prevent this? Also after you have sent a mail you are unable to see the whole message again, just the header.
Here is our APACHE.

Hello,
I just installed nswm, and things look good... only whenever I try to reply or forward a message, the TO: field comes up as "can not verify user".... I tried setting $fake_from to 0, but that did not help. Is there a way to fix this? Thanks

When the inbox.pl program loads, I keep getting a Javascript error, "parent.menu has no properties.". The inbox shows up, but the side menu options and the NikoSoft title does not.
Please let me know what I need to do.

Hi all,
WebMail is working fine for me (very cool!), but it's not showing anything in "Sent Messages" - is that a known issue?

NSWM version 0.5.1b is out, with a beginning of MIME implementation, and fixes for the new-style Mail::POP3Client.
It's still beta version, but for now it works and is able to read mail attachment (not yet send it).
Everybody knowing a bit PERL can help :-))

Can someone please help me. I keep getting the following error when trying to login
"server name, user name, or password are incorrect."
I think it may be a problem with the perl module. When I run the test that came with the POP3Client module (perl t/poptest.t), numbers 3, 4 and 5 fail. I think these have something to do with the actual loggin. I have tried hard coding in my login variables into the test script but they still fail. I cannot get enough output from the POP3 module when it is run to see why I am getting the errors. How can I test that the login of the Perl module is actualy working? Can anyone please help?

Hey,
I run spoontech.net a web devolopment company, and i love neomail.
I rewrote most the html and such (mail.spoontech.net) to change colors and
basic style.
about the only change i made to the perl stuff was, i didnt want POP server
to be an option, to prevent ppl tring to access pop under my ip.
so i took that option out of the html
and commented it out in all the perl shit
then i simply did $POPserver = "spoontech.net"
in the upper section..
The problem i occured, is when i do New Message
it says From: @R`ad@``c`
from the looks thats a burp in the perl script, i dont know if i caused it
or not, but please email me back as soon as u can so i can fix the problem
and bring my webmail public.
Thank you

Hi. I downloaded and installed nswm. I had to remove the "REQUIRE D:\kjsndkfnskdnf" part at the top of the scripts to get the cgi apps to work properly. I installed it as an interim solution because IMP was giving me too many issues with installation for me and I needed something quick. I have modified your interface a bit so it fits better on small (read: generic office PC's) web browser windows. Also, changed the text for the menus and made the message text display "Courier New" instead of Times since most messages are in a Monospaced font. If you want to take a look at the smallish interface, go ahead and take a look at http://skylab.org/webmail I'd be interested in making suggestions for improvement (i.e. have quoted text when replying and have a 'Real Name' box from the "From:" field. Maybe use cookies. I'm using this on a linux box running Apache. Feel free to take my modifications, I'd just appreciate a note of recognition somewhere. Also, you might be tempted to mention something of a license. I assumed it to be totally-totally open, but still.... Good job so far!! What made you start this project?
